AI Committee

The purpose of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota’s Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) Committee is to support the University community with exploring A.I. usage from an ethics-based and human centered perspective. Guided by the University’s mission of helping learners lead ethical lives of service and leadership, and through the lens of the University’s A.I. Position Statement.

Our Mandates



Teaching and Learning

Initiate, support, and sustain educational opportunities to help the University community learn about artificial intelligence (A.I.) and its application to University operations and academic programming, and through the lens of human dignity and ethical considerations for A.I. usage as detailed in the A.I. Positioning Statement.



Curricular Integration

Assist academic programs with exploring perspectives and evaluating strategies for integrating A.I. into course and program curriculum.



Collaboration

Collaborate with offices, departments, and committees throughout the University to assist with A.I.-related projects and initiatives.



Trend Evaluation

Stay current with A.I. trends which are relevant to University academic programming and operations.



Policy Review and Compliance

Partner with University committees to review and update on an annual basis A.I. policy language, and support A.I. policy compliance.



Resources and Tools

Explore A.I. technologies which are relevant to University academic programming and operations.
